When the output pressure of the pressure reducing valve is higher or the diameter is larger, the pressure regulating spring is used to directly adjust the pressure, the spring stiffness is inevitably too large, and the output pressure fluctuates greatly when the flow rate changes, and the structural size of the valve will also increase. In order to overcome these shortcomings, pilot operated pressure reducing valves can be used. The working principle of the pilot type pressure reducing valve is basically the same as that of the direct acting type. The pressure regulating gas used in the pilot pressure reducing valve is supplied by a small direct acting pressure reducing valve. If the small direct-acting pressure reducing valve is installed inside the valve body, it is called the internal pilot pressure reducing valve; If the small direct acting pressure reducing valve is installed outside the main body, it is called an external pilot pressure reducing valve.
When setting the driving pressure of the mechanical pump, the correct method is to make the driving pressure 1-1.5kg/cm2 (15-20psig) higher than the back pressure. This is true in most cases. But sometimes in order to achieve the required displacement of the pump, it is necessary to set the driving pressure slightly higher. When the driving pressure is high, the downside is that it is easy to wear the intake valve. If the driving pressure is higher than the required value, it will cause serious wear to the intake valve and have to replace the intake valve in advance.
In this case, a pressure reducing valve or a pressure reducing valve station is recommended. The reducing valve allows the drive pressure to be maintained at a set pressure that meets the pump displacement while also protecting the intake valve from wear. In addition, when the application space is relatively narrow, it is recommended to use a pressure reducing valve station with steam collecting pipe. In the process of pumping water, the steam collecting pipe supplies steam to the pump and provides a buffer for the pump. This buffer makes the operation of the whole device soft and reduces the wear on the pressure reducing valve.
